Ayo García graduated in Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and holds a dual LLM in Lawyering and Business Law from IE Law School.
Starting his career as a lawyer at Baker McKenzie, he specialized in Data Privacy and IT Law. However, seeking diverse experiences, he transitioned to in-house legal roles. In 2017, he embarked on a new journey as the Head Privacy Counsel at Nationale-Nederlanden. Subsequently, he advanced his career as the Data Privacy Regional Head-Europe at the Vendor Risk Assessment Centre of Santander Group. He later served as the Data Protection Officer at Wefox Group.
His extensive experience working both at law firms and in-house in the field of data protection, combined with his tenure as a professor at IE Law School, has given him a 360º VISION of the topic. This vision inspired him to pursue the creation of VERVO by the end of 2022.
