Ayo García is a bilingual lawyer (Spanish-English) with over 10 years of experience advising multinational organizations and leading legal and governance functions in highly regulated industries. A qualified lawyer, Certified DPO under the official certification scheme of the Spanish Data Protection Authority (AEPD) and IAPP-certified CIPM, he holds a dual Master’s degree in Legal Practice and Business Law from IE Law School.
After starting his career at Baker McKenzie, he moved in-house, holding national and international roles at multinational companies including Nationale-Nederlanden, Santander and wefox, with responsibilities spanning privacy, data governance, risk management and technology regulation.
In 2022, he founded VERVO Legal, where he serves as External General Counsel and strategic legal advisor to national and international organizations, working closely with leadership teams and business functions on their key legal and regulatory challenges.
His experience combines deep expertise in privacy, artificial intelligence and technology regulation with a 360° understanding of the legal function and the business, underpinned by a collaborative approach, strong communication skills and a focus on practical, business-oriented solutions.
